Governo do Estado da Bahia atua para ampliar a segurança das operações no Aeroporto de Ilhéus | SECOM
O governador Jerônimo Rodrigues acompanhou, nesta terça-feira (13), em Brasília, a assinatura do Termo de Compromisso para a implantação do sistema EMAS (Engineered Material Arresting System) no Aeroporto Jorge Amado, em Ilhéus, no sul da Bahia. Conduzida pelo Ministério de Portos e Aeroportos, em parceria com o Governo do Estado da Bahia, a iniciativa prevê investimentos superiores a R$ 60 milhões, por meio do Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC), para reforçar a segurança das operações aeroportuárias. O equipamento será instalado na cabeceira 29 da pista e funcionará como uma área de frenagem de emergência. Com uma estrutura composta por materiais especialmente projetados para desacelerar aeronaves, o sistema permite reduzir a velocidade em situações de ultrapassagem dos limites da pista, contribuindo para diminuir os riscos durante os pousos. Segundo o governador Jerônimo Rodrigues, o investimento contribuirá para fortalecer a infraestrutura aeroportuária e ampliar as condições para o desenvolvimento econômico e turístico da região. “Essa parceria representa um avanço para Ilhéus e para o desenvolvimento da Bahia”, afirmou. Além de reforçar a segurança, a implantação do EMAS permitirá ampliar em 100 metros o comprimento operacional da pista, que passará de 1.477 para 1.577 metros. De acordo com Saulo Pontes, secretário estadual de Infraestrutura da Bahia (Seinfra), a medida considera as características das operações no aeroporto, onde mais de 90% dos voos partem no sentido do mar. “O sistema de frenagem representa um avanço importante para a operação do Aeroporto Jorge Amado. Além de aumentar a segurança, a solução permitirá ampliar o comprimento operacional da pista, oferecendo melhores condições para as operações aéreas”, destacou o secretário. A implantação do EMAS em Ilhéus segue uma solução tecnológica já adotada no Aeroporto de Congonhas, em São Paulo, pioneiro na utilização do equipamento no Brasil. O Aeroporto Jorge Amado também vem recebendo melhorias em sua infraestrutura. Entre as intervenções realizadas pela concessionária SOCICAM estão a reforma e a ampliação do terminal de passageiros, a manutenção da pista de pouso e decolagem, a execução de grooving — técnica que melhora a drenagem da água e o atrito entre os pneus das aeronaves e o pavimento —, a construção de uma nova Seção Contra Incêndio e a ampliação do estacionamento. O aeroporto também dispõe de recursos de apoio à navegação aérea e às operações, como balizamento noturno, biruta iluminada e sistema indicador de trajetória de aproximação de precisão (PAPI) nas duas cabeceiras da pista.
